CAnnon's Point

On the northern most tip of St. Simons Island is the 608-acre site bearing the ruins of a larger plantation house built by John Couper in the 1800s. Originally occupied by the Indians, there are shell middens dating to 2500 B.C. The peninsula has over 6 miles of salt marsh, tidal creek and river shoreline providing habitat for birds, fish, manatees, oysters and shellfish.

Cannon's Point was purchased by the St. Simons Land Trust, and is now permanently preserved - One of the coast's most unique jewels.
