Al Brown has been associated with selling real estate on Sea Island and St. Simons Island for over 40 years. Prior to founding Al Brown Company, Al was Senior Vice President of Real Estate for Sea Island Acquisitions. Since 1982, he was intimately involved in the sales of residences throughout Sea Island and its neighborhoods. While quick to give credit to his team, Al was the all-time leading producer during his 30 years of service to Sea Island Company, being involved in a total of over $1.1 billion in career real estate sales.

His involvement in closed sales on residences ranging from under $200,000 to $20 million, includes permanent and second homes, vacation cottages, townhomes, condominiums, quarter shares and building sites for individuals and families from across the nation and around the world. These records of success are founded on Al’s ability to seek and secure the right fit for every client, every time. His clients respond to his gentle guidance, relaxed demeanor, caring attitude, solid integrity and unmatched knowledge of these rare and renowned coastal Georgia markets.

A Georgia native and a resident of St. Simons Island for over 40 years, Al is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a degree in real estate.

Al and his wife Gayle have two grown daughters, Anna and Jordan. They are members of Sea Island Club and Frederica Golf Club. They attend First Baptist Church of St. Simons Island where Al has taught Sunday School for twenty-six years and plays the drums for musical programs. Al is a nature lover and an avid bass fisherman.




Over the past 20 years, Baba McCaffrey has been consistently recognized as one of the leading agents in the sale of residential property connected with Sea Island. So well-known and respected in the industry here as a super star in sales, she doesn’t really need a last name.

Prior to joining Al Brown Company, Baba was a sales agent and perennial leading producer for Sea Island Properties for 19 years. Before that, she was a top sales agent at a leading St. Simons Island area real estate firm for ten years. She was the selling agent in the largest residential transaction to be closed in Sea Island’s history.

Baba is a recipient of the prestigious Oglethorpe Award, presented by the Golden Isles Association of Realtors® for her enviable record of achievement in sales. Baba was born in Jacksonville, Florida, attended Mercer University, and has been a resident of St. Simons Island for 50 years. She and her husband Albert have 18 grandchildren and attend St. Simons Presbyterian Church.




Jordan Brown joined Al Brown Company in August 2014. She was born and raised on St. Simons Island by her parents, Al and Gayle Brown, and graduated from Glynn Academy in 1999. She attended the College of Charleston in Charleston, SC where she earned a BS degree in Accounting. She worked in Real Estate in Atlanta for Harry Norman Realtors before moving to San Diego, CA where she was employed at LPL Financial Services for 10 years. Jordan has moved back to the Island to help with her father’s business.

Jordan enjoys exercising, going to the beach, music, hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. She attends St. Simons Community Church and has done volunteer work for Meals on Wheels in San Diego, the Salvation Army, and Hospice of the Golden Isles.




Judy Scarlett serves as the Al Brown Company’s Executive Assistant. Judy earned her Real Estate license in 2000. She sold real estate in the Golden Isles for 10 years and was active with the Golden Isles Association of Realtors® serving on the Board of Directors and as chair and committee member on multiple committees.

Prior to joining Al Brown Company, Judy worked at the United Way of Coastal Georgia as Volunteer and Community Services Coordinator. Judy grew up in the Atlanta area. She attended Young Harris College and graduated from Valdosta State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. She has been a residence of St. Simons Island for 26 years. She has been active in the community serving as a volunteer for various organizations.

Judy is a member of St. Simons Presbyterian Church where she has taught Sunday school and is an Elder. She is married to Judge Stephen Scarlett and they have two children, Stephen Jr. and Mary.
